MH Invest has launched a public tender for concessions to build ultra-fast charging stations.

Vytvorené dňa: 01.09.2025      Aktualizované dňa: 01.09.2025

The state-owned company MH Invest, s.r.o., fully owned by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, has announced a public tender to select concessionaires for the construction and operation of a network of ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles. This marks an important step toward developing a modern and accessible charging infrastructure in Slovakia, aimed at supporting the transition to greener and more sustainable transport.

The project plans to build 35 charging parks with a total of 251 charging points—219 for passenger and light commercial vehicles, and 32 for trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. These sites will be strategically located along a key highway connecting western and eastern Slovakia. The tender covers a 16-year period, during which the concessionaires will be responsible for financing, building, operating, and maintaining the individual stations.

Each charging point must meet high technical standards, with a minimum output of 300 kW for passenger vehicles and 400 kW for electric trucks. The stations must also support ad hoc charging without requiring registration or a contract, and accept commonly used forms of electronic payment. This will ensure convenient and seamless access to charging services for both domestic and international drivers.

Successful bidders will be required to complete construction and launch operations at each station within six months of signing the concession agreement or taking over the designated site. The public procurement process is divided into three separate parts, and each bidder may be awarded only one. This structure is designed to promote broader competition, diversify risk, and increase the reliability of fulfilling contractual obligations.

Interested parties can submit their bids electronically through the IS EVO information system by June 11, 2025. Detailed instructions and participation requirements are available at www.isepvo.sk. For technical questions, a helpdesk is available via email at eplatforma@vlada.gov.sk or by phone at +421 2 209 25 100.

As the expert guarantor of state infrastructure investments, MH Invest, s.r.o. expects that, if developments proceed favorably, the winners of the public procurement process could be announced before the end of 2025.

This project represents an important step in the Ministry of Economy's efforts to support the green transformation of transport and improve conditions for the development of e-mobility in Slovakia. A modern charging infrastructure also has the potential to enhance Slovakia’s appeal to investors in innovative technologies and clean energy.
