The Slovak government will support the establishment of a new pharmaceutical production facility in Martin, creating 72 new jobs

At its meeting in Vysoká nad Kysucou on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, the Slovak Government approved the proposal of the Ministry of Economy (MH) of the Slovak Republic to provide investment aid to Helgeheim a. s. in the total amount of EUR 4.26 million. This aid will be granted in the form of income tax relief and will support the establishment of a new production facility in Martin and the creation of up to 72 new qualified jobs. The new plant will specialise in producing sterile injectable pharmaceutical products. These products will contain highly active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs) and will mainly be sold in Germany.
„Approval of this investment aid is an important step towards strengthening Slovak pharmaceutical production and focusing it on highly specialised products. The creation of new jobs and export support clearly demonstrate that Slovakia is an attractive destination for sophisticated investment. However, this project is not only about creating new jobs, but also about developing new technologies and establishing ourselves in foreign markets. The Government of the Slovak Republic will continue to support similar initiatives that contribute to the innovation and growth of our economy," said Denisa Saková, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
The company Helgeheim, which was founded in 2020, plans an investment of more than €14.4 million, creating at least 72 new skilled jobs. These jobs will be based in the Martin district, and the average wage will be significantly higher than the regional average, representing approximately twice the average wage in the Martin district. Highly skilled positions are to be included in the new jobs at Helgeheim.
The planned production is intended for export, which will stimulate the Slovak economy and enhance the competitiveness of Slovak products in international markets. The new facility will be established within the existing industrial zone in Martin, ensuring the efficiency of the project and facilitating further development of the regional infrastructure.
