Slovakia is on the road to innovation in electromobility and sustainable transport with the introduction of Europe's first mobile chargers for electric vehicles

Vytvorené dňa: 08.07.2025      Aktualizované dňa: 08.07.2025

The first mobile charging stations for electric vehicles are coming to Slovakia. This new generation of solutions is set to transform electromobility. Portable and flexible, these chargers do not require fixed installation, enabling EV charging in locations without permanent infrastructure. These mobile charging stations represent an innovative solution that will support the development of electromobility and the diversification and accessibility of charging infrastructure in Slovakia. The first such stations, developed by Gotion High-Tech in collaboration with the Slovakian company Inobat, will be operational at the Slovak Government Office from today.

These mobile chargers are an innovative way of increasing the availability of charging infrastructure and supporting the development of electromobility in Slovakia and Europe. They are a novelty on the European market and will provide a new impetus for decarbonisation. They can also significantly boost the competitiveness of Slovakian automotive manufacturers.

Mobile charging stations provide a flexible and temporary charging solution, increasing the accessibility of electric vehicles (EVs) to infrastructure. They are therefore an ideal solution for locations where charging is required, as well as for events and venues with increased mobility needs. This solution can be used by various municipalities, companies and organisations to significantly increase the accessibility of electromobility for the general public in cities and regions without the need for major investment in fixed infrastructure.

For Slovakia, this could be a significant step forward in developing infrastructure for electric vehicles and transitioning to a sustainable economy. This would contribute to transforming the country and supporting the further development of the Slovak automotive and technology industries. Inobat's research and development centre in Voderady will be involved in developing and modifying such stations for the European market. This will establish Slovakia as a key player in introducing new electromobility technologies and give it a significant competitive advantage in the automotive sector.

The joint venture between the Chinese group Gotion and the Slovakian company InoBat will bring the second largest investment to Slovakia, worth EUR 1.2 billion, for the production of batteries at a new plant in the Šurany Industrial Park. Several key milestones have already been achieved at this site. This project will not only strengthen Slovakia's position as an automotive powerhouse, but also establish it as a leader in electromobility in Europe.
