The Šurany Industrial Park received a strategic investment certificate

Vytvorené dňa: 07.07.2025      Aktualizované dňa: 07.07.2025

On Wednesday, 5 March 2025, the Šurany Industrial Park in the Nitra region received a certificate of strategic investment following approval at a Slovak Government meeting. This was based on a proposal from the Ministry of Economy (MH) of the Slovak Republic. The strategic investment certificate is a key step in the industrial park's further development. Under the new Act No. 142/2024 Coll. on Extraordinary Measures for Strategic Investments, investors holding a strategic investment certificate can use several provisions of the Act to simplify or speed up various procedures.

The Act enables investors with a Strategic Investment Certificate to simplify processes and accelerate various administrative procedures. „The law provides broader options than are available for the significant investment certificate. This includes shortened and simplified procedures for construction, approval and public procurement," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova after the meeting.

Šurany Industrial Park is one of the largest projects in the region. Its strategic location allows for quick access to transport infrastructure and possible commercial and industrial hubs. The park has the potential to become a key hub for new technology and manufacturing investments, which will bring economic growth and create new jobs in the area.

Preparations for the industrial park are progressing according to schedule. The area in question has been consolidated and preparation is continuing in accordance with all standard legal regulations. Once completed, the park is expected to make a significant contribution to the regional and Slovakian economies, as well as to the regional standard of living.  A new battery production plant is being developed by a joint venture between the Chinese company Gotion and the Slovakian firm InoBat. They will invest up to EUR 1.2 billion in the industrial park — the second-largest investment in Slovakia's history.
