Procedures in industrial parks construction to be reviewed by the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic

Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic will be providing assistance to the Supreme Audit Office (NKÚ) of the Slovak Republic that launched an audit of processes related to the preparation and construction of Industrial Parks in Rimavská Sobota and in Valaliky located near Košice. Preparatory works of strategic investors for starting their production are currently underway in both industrial parks.
„After taking up my post at the Ministry of Economy, I was briefed on several issues, including a complaint made by one of investors regarding the non-compliance of the state with its promises on industrial parks construction and the penalties that threaten to us. Therefore, the Ministry of Economy makes every effort to avoid such a scenario and the delivery of the prepared area in Rimavská Sobota to the investor on this Friday is also a proof that we are proceeding well,” said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková.
The audit by the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic to be focused on the processes of preparation and subsequent implementation of the strategic parks, will be carried out in line with the NKÚ Audits Plan and besides the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, it will also target the MH Invest and the Valaliky Industrial Park which are state-owned companies under the competence of the Ministry. These companies are responsible for preparation of the strategic areas upon which the plants of significant companies of Volvo or Winkelmann should be built in the future. In both cases, Slovakia has pledged to finish preparatory works for the industrial parks in question within the specific deadlines.
