The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic will support an investment by Ukrainian entrepreneurs in eastern Slovakia.
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during an off-site meeting in Pečovská Nová Ves, the Slovak government approved investment aid of over €1.27 million for the company DKR GROUP s. r. o., which plans to build a production facility in Petrovany near Prešov. The project will create 28 new jobs and focus on producing halogen-free, flame-retardant cable compounds used as input material in the manufacturing of modern cables and conductors. read more >>

The competition for a financial advisor for the construction of a new nuclear power source has begun.
On Tuesday, 3 June 2025, the state-owned Nuclear and Decommissioning Company (JAVYS), a.s., launched a competition for a financial advisor for the planned construction of a new nuclear power source in Jaslovské Bohunice. The goal is to provide the state with expert support in preparing and concluding contractual agreements between the Slovak Republic and the future investor. read more >>

Slovakia and Montenegro: Strengthening Relations that Shape the Future of the Region
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková, took part in a working visit to Podgorica. The Slovak delegation, led by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, held a series of bilateral meetings in Montenegro focused on deepening relations between the two countries. Right to Repair, Ban on Greenwashing, and Clear Information for Consumers. The Government of the Slovak Republic Approved an Amendment to the Consumer Protection Act.
On Wednesday, 21 May 2025, Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková, presented to the Slovak government a draft amendment to the Consumer Protection Act. The proposal, approved by the government, introduces a new right to repair, tightens rules on environmental claims, and strengthens consumer rights within the framework of the green transition. read more >>

D. Saková: We are already taking all necessary steps to ensure Slovakia has enough gas for the upcoming winter.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the government approved a measure of general economic interest at its meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. This measure will ensure sufficient gas reserves in Slovakia’s underground storage facilities ahead of the 2025/2026 heating season. The aim is to strengthen the country’s energy security and ensure uninterrupted gas supply for Slovak consumers, especially given the high share of natural gas used for residential heating. read more >>

In Green for Businesses, companies have the green light.
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises can now apply for grants to install equipment that uses renewable energy sources under the national project Green for Businesses, managed by the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) under the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. In the first stage, companies operating in the Bratislava region may apply for support. Other regions will follow, each with its own allocated funds. read more >>

MH Invest has launched a public tender for concessions to build ultra-fast charging stations.
The state-owned company MH Invest, s.r.o., fully owned by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, has announced a public tender to select concessionaires for the construction and operation of a network of ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles. The Slovak government approved an amendment to the Energy Act and adjustments to related laws, submitted by the Ministry of Economy.
On 7 May 2025, the Government of the Slovak Republic approved a draft law amending the Energy Act and other related laws. The Ministry of Economy submitted the proposal to ensure the transposition and implementation of several new European Union legislative requirements, including electricity market reform, the gas directive, and the development of renewable energy sources. read more >>
